Perth Wedding Photography Styles

When you hire a Wedding Photographer - you are hiring an artist. An individual with unique Creativity, Skills, Techniques, Experience and Equipment. DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY!!

There are two main styles for Wedding Photography that will cover your day in different ways & give you totally different results. This is an individual taste for you - but be careful as some photographers can not adapt to different styles.

Traditional, Static, Posed, Staged:
This style is vital and great for many parts of your day and really has to be implemented at least in some places through the day. Often the signing of the register, Family photos & Bridal Shoot incorporates this style. If you opt for this style of photography you need to be VERY careful about the photographers presence (demeanour). Someone with a poor or rude demeanour will at best make the shoot very boring and long, though often will be much worse than this. Look for someone who is experienced and will be efficient and fun in this role of arranging photos and your guests. Many photographers find it hard to get good results, keep things fun and get the desired photos in a short amount of time. I will do this and also deliver relaxed, natural looking photos.
Photo Journalism, Natural, Candid, Alive:
This style captures your day as it unfolds. The photographer can blend into the background and snap away as you involve yourself in the day. Many photographers can only really do this with limited results. If opting for this style you need to be VERY careful about the photographers skill and portfolio. This can leave you with limited useable photos. when checking a photographer look at a few FULL WEDDINGS - not just a sample of a few photos from each wedding. You need to know that the Photographer can get a good range of great wedding photos from Your Day.

Each style has a large room for creativity and individuality from the photographer and both require specific skills. Be sure to see the Presence and Portfolio pages for tips about this.
